Over the past 30 years, the Community Media Center (CMC) has evolved in many ways. But one thing that has never changed is our commitment to the nonprofit community. The CMC is, at its core, a multimedia and technology assistive organization.
We are here to help local nonprofits tell their stories and create the biggest impact within their communities.
We do this by providing access to equipment, media services and community venues - all at an affordable nonprofit rate. The CMC has many free services as well, like radio and television Public Service Announcements (PSAs) and The Rapidian, our platform for citizen journalism.
To renew your nonprofit membership, or to begin a new membership, contact info@grcmc.org or call 616-459-4788 ext 100.
CMC’s Mobile Education team is a component of GRTV. Consisting of enthusiastic and talented trainers, we work with professional equipment and teach a wide variety of programs, the art of video production, editing, and stop-motion animation. Often going into area schools and NPO organizations, we work with students and/or staff of all ages. Our classes are hands-on and catered to your specific needs. Best of all, we will come to you.

CMC’s Community Media Services team produces high quality videos for nonprofit organizations at affordable rates. We also produce two television programs, Focus on Issues and NPO Showcase, that highlight our local nonprofit community and record free video PSAs weekly.
WYCE 88.1FM helps keep Grand Rapids in the loop by broadcasting radio PSAs every hour and a local cultural event calendar every day. We also create professional audio packages for nonprofit clients.

The Nonprofit Neighbors section on The Rapidian, our platform for citizen journalism, provides a place where the community can hear directly from local nonprofits. In this nonprofit-only section, organizations self-publish their news releases, updates and promotional information for the community to see.
